There seems to be a recurring theme when it comes to the launch of a small business - the business owner was looking or something, couldn't find it, so decided to fill the gap in the market.
Well, that's pretty much the same story here! Just over a year ago I upgraded my phone to the iPhone 6 Plus - yep, I went super-sized.
It was done unexpectedly at the Telco store within a shopping mall, so I needed a case to protect my new baby then and there, so thought I'd have a look around the shops and pick up something that day.
Alas, the only cases I came across were 'bling' and tawdry to say the least, so I jumped online in hope to find one that was both fashionable and sturdy. No luck there either.
And so I dwelled on this. Having been in the fashion industry for over 14 years I knew where to source on-trend and fashionable pieces from OS, but locally, there appeared to be nowhere to access a curated selection of bang-on-trend, well price pointed and super-fashionable accessories and jewellery, that were all in one place, and that were easy to shop (and shipped locally).
Yes I know, quite a list of requirements, but if I expected online shopping to be that easy, so would everyone else!
And so the idea for The Addition was born.
One year (and lots of late nights, lots of viewing pretty things and LOTS of work) later here we are, launching a brand new site, filled with lots of gorgeous pieces!
I am so excited about the brands we have on board, with many local talent + fabulous designs from Paris + LA for good measure :)
The Addition will be heavily influenced by classic design, but also 'what's hot right now' as we recognise you want the best of the best, and what's current on social media and the catwalk.
Make sure you sign up to receive our newsletter, as there are many more exciting arrivals happening over the next few months - and of course new stock dropping from all over the world.
For now, please enjoy the site and follow us on Instagram @the_addition for the latest updates!
